The Conjuring, Horrific Investment

The Conjuring

The Conjuring scored another massive hit for horror this weekend by beating all comers to number one. Besting high profile animations in the process.

The Conjuring will take an estimated $42 million by close on Sunday with number 2 being taken by Despicable Me 2. Pacific Rim continues it’s tumble down the chart proving that high budget studio pictures can be a risky investment. By comparison The Conjuring cost just $20 million and will provide a significant return even if it experiences a 70%  drop similar to The Purge on the second weekend. However with an 85% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes and an 8.1 on imdb we would predict a decent hold.

The Conjuring could be the highest grossing horror film of the year.
