Jessica Cameron – Fantasy Festival

Posted September 4, 2013 by Stuart Wells in Articles

We caught up with Jessica Cameron to kick off our new Fantasy Festival feature. She chose three of her films that celebrated women in horror and gruesome deaths. Here is what she chose and why:

The Sleeper

Plot: It’s 1981 and the girls of Alpha Gamma Theta sorority are having a party. Amy, sick of living in the dorms, invites her roommate Ava to attend the party with her in hopes that they’ll both become Thetas. As the girls arrive, so does an

uninvited guest watching them in the shadows. Amy’s choice quickly becomes a nightmare as the Theta girls begin to disappear one by one. Announcing his victims, the killer calls the house whispering the next to die. The police hunt for the missing girls and the killer, but will they find him in time? Or will all the girls sleep for good?

This 80′s slasher throw back directed by Justin Russel. It was a blast on set acting like we were in a sorority (I am Canadian so I never got the pleasure!). He is one of the youngest directors I have worked

with but also one of the most talented!

I had a BLAST working with Caisson films on this one with the always impressive Heather Dorff. I love my character arc in this one, and working with the Florida actors was so much fun!

This film (directed by the incredibly kind James Thomas) features everything you need in a horror film and even throws in a car chase! It was a blast to shoot in the desert in the summer. The cast and crew were fantastic and we had a lot of fun.

Jessica Cameron

Thanks to Jessica for giving us some of her very limited time and remember that Jessica’s latest Truth Or Dare is on the festival circuit. We will be adding an article for this crowdfunded carnival of carnage.
